LOUISVUITTON.COM - Louis Vuitton Events Hotel Louis Vuitton
Welcome to the miniature Hotel Louis Vuitton serviced by little dolls. The mannequins in the current window displays on Fifth Avenue, New York are an infantry of mini models inspired by silhouettes from the A/W 2011 Louis Vuitton show in Paris. The set of elevators from the fashion show also influenced the staging of the tiny dolls immersed in spatial elements, stairs and levels within the windows. The dolls are entirely handmade in Italy complete with minute detailing such as their little hats or headpieces and the miniscule Louis Vuitton logos on their shirts. Somehow the repetition and tricks of the eye recall the façade of the store itself designed by Japanese architect Jun Aoki, which plays with transparency and opacity using a white glass wall imposed onto the 1930s Art Deco exterior. As a result, the store on Fifth Avenue is visually remarkable and stands out on this fashion avenue. However, add the miniature army to the windows, which were revealed for Fashions Night Out in New York and there you have a true site to be seen.
